Al Ahly Stars Bencharki, Afsha Injury Updates Emerge Amidst Egyptian League Hiatus

Al Ahly's team doctor provides crucial updates on Ashraf Bencharki and Mohamed Magdy Afsha's injuries as the Egyptian League remains on hold.

Al Ahly’s team doctor released updates on Wednesday concerning the injuries of Ashraf Bencharki and Mohamed Magdy “Afsha.” Both players are key figures for the reigning Egyptian Premier League champions.

Bencharki sustained a hamstring injury while with Morocco’s second national team. This injury forced him to withdraw from the Arab Cup tournament.

Afsha suffered a calf injury during his participation with the Egyptian national team. He picked up the injury while competing in the Arab Cup.

Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, Al Ahly’s physician, confirmed ongoing coordination with the Moroccan national team’s medical staff. This collaboration aims to monitor Ashraf Bencharki’s condition during the Arab Cup.

Bencharki regularly undergoes physical therapy sessions, Dr. Gaballah stated. The player shows progress in his treatment program for the hamstring tear sustained before the tournament.

Gaballah also reported that Afsha continues his rehabilitation training. The midfielder aims to alleviate the pain in his calf.

Egyptian League competitions halted in November. This stoppage allowed the second national team to participate in the Arab Cup, a tournament sanctioned by FIFA.

The league hiatus will extend until at least early January. The first national team is preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled from December 21 to January 18 in Morocco.
