Inscryption Mobile Announced, No DLC Planned
Studio rules out new DLC as development shifts toward Pony Island 2

Daniel Mullins Games confirmed a mobile version of Inscryption during a Twitch stream marking the horror card game’s fifth anniversary. Creator Daniel Mullins appeared on the broadcast to announce the port, though the studio offered no release window beyond stating it will take “a little while” before the title hits app stores.
Players expecting new story content alongside the port will not get it. The studio ruled out any future DLC for the game in a Reddit post, calling Inscryption “a complete experience, both narratively and gameplay-wise.” The developers stated they refuse to add content simply to capitalize on the game’s success or pad its runtime. This approach mirrors how Mullins handled his previous titles, including 2016’s Pony Island and 2022’s cult hit Cryptmaster, moving away from projects once their core mechanics were fully explored rather than extending them through paid expansions.
The studio’s immediate priority sits elsewhere. Daniel Mullins Games is currently focused on finishing Pony Island 2, the long-delayed sequel to its debut meta-horror game. The follow-up is scheduled to launch on Steam on April 27, 2027, more than a decade after the original introduced players to the developer’s signature style of breaking the fourth wall.
Inscryption originally launched on PC in October 2021 before expanding to PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox platforms. The game blends deck-building roguelike mechanics with escape-room puzzles and psychological horror, tasks that required significant interface reworking when ported to consoles. Adapting those same systems for touchscreens presents a distinct technical challenge, which likely accounts for the studio’s reluctance to commit to a firm mobile launch date.
Further details regarding the mobile release are expected in the coming months.
