Fiat Expands TRIS Three-Wheeled Electric Commercial Vehicle Beyond Morocco
Fiat's three-wheeled TRIS EV, manufactured in Kenitra, targets international urban delivery markets after its Moroccan debut.

Fiat has announced the TRIS, a three-wheeled commercial vehicle, as a significant new addition to its commercial division. However, the model is not entirely new, having already been available in Morocco since September. The Italian automaker positions the TRIS as an agile solution for urban parcel delivery, leveraging its unconventional configuration.
Fiat aims to expand the TRIS’s international reach beyond Morocco, where it is currently manufactured and sold. Production takes place at the Kenitra plant, which is also slated to assemble the Citroën C4 starting in 2026. Designed in Italy, the TRIS is an affordable, eco-friendly commercial vehicle featuring a distinctive aesthetic, including a high cabin, a large windshield, integrated voluminous headlights, and an attached cargo box.

In Morocco, the TRIS is available in three body configurations: chassis-cab, cab-platform, and pickup. These options cater to diverse customer needs, from parcel delivery to maintenance and municipal services. The cabin accommodates only the driver, while the cargo box offers a usable surface area of 2.25 square meters, sufficient for a standard europallet, and boasts a load capacity of up to 540 kilograms.
Reflecting Fiat’s reputation for affordable yet technologically equipped vehicles, the three-wheeled TRIS incorporates essential features for efficient deliveries and operations. Its controls consist of a handlebar, replacing a traditional steering wheel, and it operates without a clutch or gearbox. Despite its compact nature, the cabin is equipped with a 5.7-inch digital instrument display, USB-C ports, 12V sockets, and LED lighting.
The Fiat TRIS is engineered for agile urban maneuverability, partly due to its 3.17-meter length. It features a 6.9 kWh lithium-ion battery positioned between the rear axles, providing a maximum range of 90 kilometers on a single charge. The vehicle does not support fast charging; instead, it recharges via a standard 220V domestic power outlet, reaching 80% capacity in approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Stellantis views the TRIS as a key initiative to popularize electric vehicles, including commercial and micro-mobility solutions, in Morocco. The country is emerging as a significant hub in the automotive industry. Stellantis backs the TRIS with a warranty of up to two years or 20,000 kilometers for the vehicle and three years or 60,000 kilometers for the battery.
The TRIS is slated for an international debut at the Brussels Motor Show in early 2026. While final specifications for the broader market remain to be confirmed, it is anticipated that the technical characteristics will largely align with the Moroccan version.
