The debate over artificial intelligence governance comes as federal agencies weigh security risks against technological leadership. U.S. Department of the Treasury<\/a> Secretary Scott Bessent<\/a> has recently expressed concern regarding open-source models, warning that foreign adversaries\u2014specifically China\u2014could leverage open-weight frameworks built on research originated in American laboratories.
