Federal safety officials have ordered a recall of more than 16,800 fabric dressers sold on Walmart’s e-commerce platform, warning that the unstable units violate mandatory federal safety requirements and pose severe tip-over and entrapment risks to children.<\/p>\n

The recall involves roughly 16,809 EnHomee 9-Drawer Fabric Dressers imported from China and distributed online by third-party vendor Raybee-Direct. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission<\/a>, the furniture fails to comply with mandatory standards under the STURDY Act\u2014a milestone federal law enacted to prevent clothing storage units from dangerously tipping over.<\/p>\n

While no injuries or incidents have been documented to date, regulators are urging consumers to immediately stop using any unanchored dressers and move them to areas inaccessible to children. The recalled items, which sold for approximately $80 between September 2023 and March 2026, feature a metal frame and nine fabric drawers in white, brown, gray, or black. Only units ordered prior to March 30, 2026, are affected by the action.<\/p>\n

The safety benchmark enforced under the Stop Tip-overs of Unstable, Risky Dressers on Youth (STURDY) Act mandates that clothing storage units undergo rigorous stability testing simulating real-world household scenarios. These standards require dressers to remain upright during conditions that mirror children climbing, hanging on open drawers, or placing weight on units set on carpeted flooring. Tip-over incidents historically cause thousands of emergency room visits each year in the United States, with toddlers particularly vulnerable due to their small size and developing physical capabilities.<\/p>\n

To obtain a full refund, owners must contact Raybee-Direct by emailing RaybeeRecall@outlook.com and submit photographic evidence demonstrating that the dresser has been disposed of or destroyed. The units were manufactured in China by Xuzhou Mingquanhe Household Co., Ltd. and imported by Changsha Yiman Keji Youxian Gongsi, operating as Raybee-Direct.<\/p>\n

The recall highlights ongoing safety oversight across major e-commerce marketplaces, where third-party seller platforms enable foreign manufacturers to distribute goods directly to American consumers. Beyond specific recall actions, consumer protection agencies universally recommend anchoring all tall storage furniture, dressers, and heavy appliances directly to wall studs using specialized hardware to eliminate tip-over risks entirely.<\/p>\n
