Samsung is poised to shake up its mobile portfolio at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked<\/a> event in London, where the South Korean tech giant is expected to debut a completely redesigned Galaxy Z Fold 8, an ultra-premium “Ultra” variant, and a highly anticipated preview of its first AI-powered smart glasses.<\/p>\n

The event, scheduled to stream live at 9 a.m. ET (6 a.m. PT), arrives at a critical juncture for the company. While Samsung pioneered the modern foldable smartphone market with the launch of the original Galaxy Fold in 2019, it now faces aggressive competition from rivals who have introduced thinner designs and wider outer displays.<\/p>\n

To counter these challengers, Samsung is reportedly planning a major design overhaul for the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8. Leaked renders suggest the device will abandon the narrow, tall aspect ratio of its predecessors in favor of a shorter, wider, passport-style form factor. This new design is expected to feature a 5.5-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch internal folding display, both utilizing 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels.<\/p>\n

Under the hood, the standard Fold 8 is rumored to run on Qualcomm<\/a>\u2019s high-performance Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. To address long-standing consumer concerns regarding screen durability and the visibility of the display crease, Samsung has confirmed the implementation of “Flex Titanium” technology. This new display structure combines a titanium-alloy film with a titanium plate to enhance structural rigidity.<\/p>\n

In a move to capture the ultra-premium segment, Samsung is also expected to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Unlike the redesigned standard model, the Ultra variant will reportedly retain the taller aspect ratio of previous generations but will pack significantly upgraded hardware. Rumored specifications include a massive 8-inch internal display, a 6.5-inch cover screen, a 5,000mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging, and a flagship-grade 200-megapixel primary camera. This premium tier is expected to command a steep price tag, with European pricing rumored to start at \u20ac2,199 ($2,508), compared to \u20ac1,999 ($2,279) for the standard Fold 8.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the clamshell-style Galaxy Z Flip 8 is anticipated to receive a more modest, iterative update. While maintaining the same 6.9-inch internal and 4.1-inch cover displays as its predecessor, the Flip 8 is expected to be powered by Samsung’s next-generation 2-nanometer Exynos 2600 processor. The device will also feature a larger 4,300mAh battery, though reports remain divided on whether its charging speed will be upgraded to 45W or remain capped at 25W.<\/p>\n

Beyond smartphones, Samsung\u2019s wearable ecosystem is set for a substantial refresh. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is rumored to feature a 12% thinner chassis, a high-efficiency Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, and an incredibly bright display capable of reaching 5,000 nits. The standard Galaxy Watch 9 is also expected to adopt the same upgraded chipset while retaining its traditional circular aesthetic.<\/p>\n

Perhaps the most intriguing revelation of the event could be a sneak peek at Samsung’s upcoming AI smart glasses.
