LIVERPOOL<\/strong> \u2014 Liverpool have held extensive discussions regarding a potential move for AFC Bournemouth<\/strong> forward Rayan, as the Merseyside club intensifies its search for a marquee attacking signing to replace the departed Mohamed Salah.<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old Brazilian winger has emerged as a key target for the Reds, driven largely by the influence of Liverpool’s new manager, Andoni Iraola<\/strong>. The Spanish tactician, who recently made the high-profile switch from the Vitality Stadium to Anfield, worked closely with Rayan last season and is understood to be a major admirer of the teenager’s talents. Liverpool’s board has consulted extensively with Iraola to explore the feasibility of bringing the young prospect to Anfield.<\/p>\n

Rayan\u2019s rapid rise in European football began when Bournemouth secured his services from Rio de Janeiro-based club Vasco da Gama<\/strong>. The South Coast club moved quickly to sign the highly-rated prospect after sanctioning the transfer of Antoine Semenyo<\/strong> to Manchester City during the winter transfer window. Rayan immediately justified the investment, adapting seamlessly to the physical demands of the Premier League.<\/p>\n
