Positioned as a direct replacement for the original Nano Banana (gemini-2.5-flash-image), the new model prioritizes rapid iteration and cost efficiency over the high-fidelity realism of its more expensive counterparts, according to company announcements.<\/p>\n

The primary value proposition for enterprise users is a significant reduction in both latency and overhead. Google reports that the Lite model generates text-to-image outputs in approximately four seconds, making it 2.7 times faster than the standard Nano Banana 2. This speed is paired with a pricing structure designed for high-volume workflows; at roughly $0.034 per image for 1K resolution, the Lite version costs about half as much as the standard model\u2019s $0.067 rate.<\/p>\n

This pricing puts Google in direct competition with Seedream 5.0 Lite, which costs between $0.031 and $0.035 per image. While Reve 2.0 remains the budget leader at approximately $0.0067 per image via API, Google is leveraging its massive deployment footprint to maintain a competitive edge. The model is already accessible through Google AI Studio, the Gemini API, and the Enterprise Agent Platform, while being baked into consumer tools including Search, the Gemini app, NotebookLM, and Google Photos.<\/p>\n
