First-choice left-footed defender Lisandro Martinez suffered an injury setback while representing Argentina against Spain last month. Although Martinez is expected to return to training before the Premier League season begins, his history of physical issues leaves United cautious about relying solely on young prospect Ayden Heaven.<\/p>\n<p>Lucumi established his reputation during Bologna&#8217;s 2023\/24 campaign, forming a core defensive partnership with Riccardo Calafiori to help the club finish fifth in Serie A and secure Champions League qualification.
