Privacy network Zcash<\/a> has established a technical golden cross following the mainnet activation of its Ironwood protocol upgrade, diverging from Bitcoin<\/a> as the market leader remains constrained beneath long-term moving average resistance.<\/p>\n

The Ironwood upgrade, designated as network upgrade NU6.3, activated on mainnet at block 3,428,143 on July 28. The release overhauled Zcash’s privacy architecture and resolved a code vulnerability previously detected by artificial intelligence tools. Following an initial sell-the-news pullback, ZEC advanced 2.95% to $520.33, bringing its market capitalization to roughly $8.7 billion after reaching an intraday peak of $525.00.<\/p>\n

Zcash’s 50-day exponential moving average (EMA) now sits at $504.15, positioned above its 200-day EMA at $488.40 to form a golden cross. The asset’s Relative Strength Index (RSI) registers at 56.8, while its Average Directional Index (ADX) reads 13.4, pointing to low trend strength despite the bullish crossover. Technical resistance sits at $525, $560, and $600, with support held at the $504.15 50-day EMA and the $479.76\u2013$488.40 golden zone.<\/p>\n

In contrast, Bitcoin remains trapped in a death cross configuration, with its 50-day EMA near $64,200 trading below its 200-day EMA at $66,500. Bitcoin changed hands at $64,656, up 0.94% on the day within a $63,820 to $64,706 range. The $66,500 level has repeatedly capped relief rallies since BTC<\/a> fell from its May high near $80,000 to a June low of $56,000.<\/p>\n

Bitcoin’s consolidation comes amid macro and security pressures, including the Federal Reserve maintaining benchmark interest rates at 3.5%\u20133.75%, a $130 million Coldcard<\/a> wallet exploit disclosed late last week, and public remarks from CNBC’s Jim Cramer regarding a sale of his BTC over quantum computing risks.<\/p>\n
