The U.S. Federal Reserve opted to keep benchmark interest rates unchanged at its policy meeting earlier in the week, reinforcing caution among investors. The decision was mirrored by the Bank of Japan, which held its key policy rate at 1.0%. QCP highlighted that memory chip manufacturers and AI-linked hardware stocks drove both the initial market plunge and subsequent recovery. According to the firm, heightened trading volume in crypto assets during the Asian session underscores an intensifying correlation between global tech sentiment, regional stock positioning, and digital asset liquidity.

Despite Friday’s retreat, Bitcoin remains on track to close the month up approximately 8.5%, according to historical market data from CoinGlass. That monthly performance represents the asset’s strongest July return since 2022.

However, technical analysts warn against over-optimism heading into August. Market observer Rekt Capital noted that Bitcoin’s current market structure continues to mirror historical bear-market dynamics observed four years ago. Specifically, Bitcoin remains blocked beneath its 50-month exponential moving average (EMA), currently pegged around $65,820, a long-term resistance boundary that has repelled two separate breakout attempts since mid-June. According to historical patterns, early August could see temporary price stability near current levels before experiencing a potential rollover.

Read also:

Circle Secures NYDFS Trust Charter to Expand Digital Asset Custody Operations

US Sanctions Iranian Entities Using Bitcoin Schemes to Charge Ships in Strait of Hormuz

Automated Rails for the Agentic Economy: How XDC AI and x402 Are Enabling Software-Led Payments

Bitcoin slipped toward the $62,000 mark on Friday, falling to its lowest price in more than two weeks as Wall Street faced downside pressure during the final trading session of the month.
