Bandai Namco has published the official PC system specifications for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, raising the hardware bar considerably for fans of the flight combat franchise. Set to release on October 2 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, the eighth mainline installment requires modern graphics hardware, hardware-accelerated ray tracing support, and an explicit transition to Windows 11<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The steep requirements reflect the title’s tech stack. Bandai Namco constructed the sequel to 2019’s Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown using Unreal Engine 5<\/a> to deliver high-fidelity environments and detailed atmospheric visual effects. To run the game even at baseline settings, PCs must feature at least 125GB of solid-state drive (SSD) storage, DirectX 12 support with Shader Model 6.6 or higher, and ray-tracing capable graphics hardware.<\/p>\n

Both minimum and recommended specification tiers released by the publisher target upscaled output rather than native resolution rendering. To hit 30 frames per second at 1080p upscaled on low settings, systems require an Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X processor, 16GB of RAM, and either an Nvidia RTX 2060 (6GB) or AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT (8GB) graphics card.<\/p>\n

Targeting 60 frames per second at 1080p upscaled on medium settings significantly raises the hardware barrier, requiring 32GB of RAM alongside an Intel Core i7-12700K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU. Graphics demands jump to an Nvidia RTX 3070 (8GB) or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT (16GB). Bandai Namco did not disclose the hardware parameters required for unscaled 4K or maximum graphical configurations.<\/p>\n

Additional technical details published on the Steam product listing<\/a> confirm that the game will implement Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM, restricting users to five daily device activations. The multiplayer component will operate with kernel-level Easy Anti-Cheat integration.<\/p>\n

The campaign takes place in July 2029 during an invasion of the Federation of Central Usea by the neighboring Republic of Sotoa. Players pilot aircraft for the surviving FCU military forces in an insurgent effort to liberate the region. Dogfights pit players against enemy pilots and former allies, complemented by large-scale boss encounters including Land Battleship No. 1, Xanthos, featured in Campaign Mission 9, “The Land Battleship Blockade.”<\/p>\n
