Egyptian Court Reserves Judgment in TV Presenter Inji Hamada Money Laundering Trial
Verdict Expected February 16, 2026, Following Prior Charges and Separate Acquittal

Egypt’s Economic Court on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, reserved its judgment in the money laundering trial of TV presenter Inji Hamada. A verdict is now expected on February 16, 2026.
The Financial Affairs and Money Laundering Prosecution had previously referred Hamada to the Economic Court on charges of money laundering.
Earlier, investigative authorities issued an arrest warrant for Hamada in connection with accusations of illicit gains and money laundering.
In a separate development, the Cairo Economic Appeals Court previously accepted an appeal filed by Hamada and Karawan Mashakel against a one-year prison sentence and a 10,000 EGP fine for publishing offensive videos. The appeals court acquitted Hamada in that specific case, while upholding Karawan Mashakel’s one-year sentence.
