Cairo University Hosts Landmark Afro-Arab Agricultural Session
After an eight-year hiatus, the Faculty of Agriculture welcomes over 2,500 students for a continental event focused on agricultural development and youth empowerment.

Cairo University will host a significant continental event in February, marking the return of specialized student activities after an eight-year pause. The university’s Faculty of Agriculture organizes this 40th Egyptian Agricultural Session, which also stands as the first Afro-Arab edition. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Mohamed Samy Abdel Sadik, President of Cairo University, provide patronage for the event. Major companies from the agricultural, industrial, and commercial sectors are participating and sponsoring the session.
More than 2,500 students will participate in the session. These students, male and female, come from faculties of agriculture across Egyptian, Arab, and African universities. They will compete in a wide range of activities, including sports, cultural events, arts, scientific challenges, social programs, and scouting. This broad participation highlights Cairo University and its Faculty of Agriculture as a vital hub for academic and student engagement.
Dr. Mohamed Samy Abdel Sadik, President of Cairo University, expressed the university’s pride in hosting this important continental gathering. He stated the Agricultural Session’s return after eight years underscores the university’s commitment to youth. Dr. Ayman Yahia, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Cairo University, confirmed ongoing logistical and organizational preparations. The faculty aims to ensure the session’s organization reflects the university’s and faculty’s esteemed history. He explained that the event will gather students from dozens of universities. These institutions represent the core of Egyptian, Arab, and African academic depth.
The Dean further highlighted the Afro-Arab Agricultural Session as a crucial student platform.
