Zamalek Club’s October City Land Appeal Adjourned to 2026 Amid Non-Compliance Probe
Court delays ruling on Zamalek's land dispute; Public Prosecution continues investigation.

Egypt’s Administrative Court, part of the State Council, on Tuesday adjourned the appeal filed by Zamalek Club’s chairman against the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and the Head of the Hadayek October City Authority. The appeal, designated as case No. 5193 of judicial year 80, challenges the decision to withdraw land allocated for a new Zamalek branch in Hadayek October City. The hearing has been postponed to February 3, 2026, for review and response.
The Public Prosecution previously announced it is continuing its investigations into complaints regarding the Zamalek Club land located in the 6th of October area of Giza Governorate. This ongoing probe aligns with its mandate to protect public funds and combat corruption.
In an official statement, the Public Prosecution detailed its investigation into the reported incidents, revealing that the land was initially allocated to Zamalek Club in 2003. However, the allocation was subsequently withdrawn multiple times due to the club’s lack of serious commitment to development and failure to adhere to stipulated conditions. The statement clarified that the most recent withdrawal occurred in 2020, after which the club was granted a new two-year grace period to complete construction, expiring on April 3, 2024.
Further, the statement added that an inspection conducted by the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) found that the construction completion rate had not exceeded 2% of the total planned developments. This prompted the club to submit a new request to increase the building area and extend the construction period by an additional four years. However, NUCA conditioned this approval on obtaining presidential consent, citing the club’s failure to comply with the previous deadline that ended on April 3, 2024.
