Slot responded to questions about potential further talks with Salah during the Africa Cup of Nations. “I said last week that actions speak louder than words, and we are past it,” Slot stated. He added, “He was in the squad and the first player I brought on as a substitute” against Brighton.
Slot continued, emphasizing Salah’s current focus. “Now he is in the Africa Cup of Nations, playing important matches for him and his national team,” Slot explained. He stressed the need for focus, saying, “It is fair, for them and for us too, because we will play very important matches, that all the focus is on him there.” Slot concluded, “I should not distract attention by talking about his time here in Liverpool.”
“We are past the Leeds interview,” Slot reiterated, referring to Salah’s comments after that match. He confirmed, “He played against Brighton.”
